Post-holiday winter is always a bit of a reality check, isn’t it? This is the time of year where I realize that while the holidays may be over, the cold weather is really just beginning. Which, for me, means now that the Christmas decor is all packed away, it’s time for a winter refresh of the house! But what to do?
Whenever I’m a little unsure of what direction to go in with things, I end up sorting through my pinterest – it’s funny how your subconscious can take you in the right direction. I do this with old tear sheets too – go through and just pull images that I’m attracted to right that moment. And usually I end up with a lovely little moodboard (or two!) without even trying. Which is exactly what I did this weekend…

Usually one for the contrast of black and white in my wardrobe and home, these layers of greys and taupes are a new kind of neutral for me. The addition of high shine metallics is a must for some punch, but I really like the softness of this palette.

My moodboard has those soft pink, lilac and mauve undertones to it too – but I’m not sure I’m ready for that in an interior. Maybe in some areas that are easy to swap out when I tire of them (although, god help me if I add one more throw pillow to my collection…).
What do you think of this palette? Is it too cool for you? Are you ready to punch up your space for winter? Or is it right in tune with these grey, icy days we’re having?
