While I’ve been struggling a bit with getting back to work after this last round of travel, I really can’t complain. After all – if there’s one thing I’ve had no shortage of in the past two weeks it’s inspiration! I’ve got so much to share with you from my adventures! So while I spend a little more time sorting through photos and planning new shoots inspired by some of the goodies I brought back with me, I thought I’d bring you a creative studio tour to get your own inspiration going…
Tenka Gammelgaard is an artist who resides in Copenhagen – the city I loved the most on our travels. So I thought it only appropriate to share her stunning studio that exemplifies her passion for black and white. In fact, passion might not be a strong enough word here. Tenka lives in a world of black and white from her dress to her art, to her paintbrushes which she actually paints black and white.I’m obsessed with artist’s floors. This could be a series in itself, I swear. when I go over to friends’ studios I’m always taking pictures of the floors with splatters of paint and wax and whatever mediums it is they work in. I love an inspiring place that invites creating a mess! What a luxury! It makes me want to find a dumpy studio loft, paint it all white and then use the heck out of it.
I love getting to see the details of what people choose to put in their space – whether they’re artists or other creatives. It’s like a little peek into their brain, don’t you think?
Details, details… like I said, you can tell that Tenka brings her style to every element of her life, including her home…
Her daughter, Noa, is also quite the creative and a fun follow on instagram. It seems the creative talent runs in the family! PS – I’m obsessed with these long skinny bookshelves in the bedroom. I’ve been thinking of creating more display space and this is giving me all kinds of inspiration!! Maybe in our dining area… !
