The one word I wanted to use to describe our holiday decor this year? COZY!! I had visions of a white Christmas dancing in my head with a flocked tree, and lots of decor in white and green to keep things simple and fresh. But, I also wanted to incorporate that true feeling of hygge – glowing candles, inviting textures, and warm woods. While we definitely had the foundation in our living room for this look, it took a few additional accessories – and one gorgeous new sofa – from Crate and Barrel to make my decorating dreams come true.

With a little rearranging, and a lot of holiday cheer, I’d call our cozy Christmas living room makeover a success.

I wasn’t really planning on getting a new sofa so soon, but the second I saw this beauty, I knew it was meant to be. The Delmar sofa is insanely comfortable (multiple naps have already taken place), and it’s upholstered in a lovely nubby Crypton performance fabric which means this perfect ivory is going to stay perfect. Plus, the scale was just what we were looking for.

While the sofa set the scene, there were so many other little items that helped get things festive and cozy…

I had already selected a few ornaments from our stash to decorate the tree, but a few more styles from the current collection at Crate and Barrel were to perfect not to include! The theme? Snowflakes galore, along strands of wood garland. Also, I’m quite obsessed with the playful knit pompom garland! It’s such a fun texture to have in the room. I really want to get some hooks for our picture rail to string them up around the ceiling.

These stockings are insanely large, in the best way possible. Someone’s going to have to up their gift game to fill these babies up! Traditionally, we’ve hung our stockings on our console, but these were so long we had to get creative, so I popped them on top of our bookshelf, and I actually love this spot for them! Hung on wood tree stocking holders, with a bit of greenery, they’re perfect up there on display.

And last but not least? Cozying up to the twinkling tree with plenty of candlelight and whiskey…

I’ve always wanted a cloche server like this one – the perfect way to display a pile of holiday cookies! And, I can’t imagine a more perfect whiskey glass than these. Nice and large to accommodate big ice spheres, just the way I like it! I also love these candle holders – you can use them with larger votives or tapers, but I like how they’ll catch the wax from the tapers without fail.

Think I’ll be adding a second set of these gold and linen napkins to my stash too, they’re perfect for holiday tabletops!

And since it’s the season for giving… we’ve got a surprise giveaway for you!! I’ve put together a set of some cozy decor just for you!

To enter, leave a comment below letting us know your favorite stocking stuffers! I’ll tell you mine: As we got older our stocking stuffers got more and more ‘grown up’, and my favorites were the kitchen gadgets my dad would find to add to our collection. A meat thermometer, salts, wine stoppers… as a restaurateur and chef he’d always know just want to put in there! Now I always look for little gourmet goodies to add to our stockings at home.

Contest is open to US residents 18 and over. Winner will be drawn on Friday and announced on our instagram! For an extra entry, pop over there to leave a comment too!
