It’s funny how long it takes to feel settled into a home. While I moved into our house a few years ago now, this Christmas is the first time I’ve felt like I’ve been able to really cozy in for the holidays thanks to a bunch of updates we’ve made – especially in the living room!
You may remember waaaaay back in September, I previewed some updated plans for the space. Well, today we’re giving you a peek at how it’s progressing (almost there!) as well our holiday decor because: ’tis the season!
It’s hard to tell how a room is coming together when there’s a huge Christmas tree taking up a major corner of the space, but here it is! We’re completely obsessed with the quality of our new Easton sofa which has become the centerpiece for the design. We were SO excited to partner with Room & Board for this room refresh, and will have much more of it to show after the new year when it’s totally finished!
The color we finally decided on for the sofa is a soft grey green called Delamont Cloud that lends itself well to many palette options, which is partially why the room isn’t 100% done yet. But for the holidays I wanted to take things in a festive direction, so…
This year’s tree features a pink and red palette that pairs so nicely with a little soft green – and of course the red chairs! I love the way these colors all play off one another. Gracie approves too!
Not to be left out, of course, is one of my all-time favorite furniture pieces, the Callan chair. It’s proportions, style and comfort are combined perfection, and it’s completing this little reading area nicely! I’ve still got a bit of work to do on this corner, but it’s coming together.
Another update we made to the space was the curtains!! I love them. You probably don’t recall what we had here before, but after going through the struggle of too wide, and not wide enough, I finally partnered with Barn & Willow to get custom curtains for these huge windows and they are awesome. The grey linen feels sophisticated with our barely-grey walls, and I like the tone on tone look they bring to the space!
And then there’s my favorite piece of holiday decor in the house – this amazing floral and greenery garland that we’re showing you how to make later this week!! My alternate to a wreath, I’m obsessed with the idea of orchids and greenery at Christmas!
We’ve got another peek at more of this space tomorrow, and the step-by-step instructions for the garland too, so it’s going to be a fun week on the blog! Stay tuned.
