Always high on the list of favorite weekend getaways is a road trip to wine country. Whether it’s Napa or Willamette or Walla Walla, we’re pretty lucky on the west coast to have so many great destinations for a weekend of wine tasting. But what do you do with the bottles you bring back with you? Share the experience with friends of course…

With the help of some beautiful table settings from Horchow, I put together a little wine-country moment of my own that transported us right back to the experience of sipping on the grounds of some of our favorite wineries. And maybe just a teeny bit better!

The key to this style is a mix of refined, rich metal elements with luxurious but light linens. The napkin rings are my favorite because they really pull the whole look together with the combination of wood and metal beads, and add great texture to the table.

And what does one serve at such a simple setting? A light salad, charcuterie to nibble on, and a zesty sorbet to finish are what’s on my menu. A beautiful serving tray that compliments the aesthetic also helps the host in transporting from kitchen to table.

And – of course – there must be wine!

I always combine different metallics when I’m styling, so I love the way the pewter salt cellars mix with the metal glaze on the porcelain chargers, and the gorgeous copper flatware. That copper element is essential to me in evoking the wine country look.

Last, but not least, even the most simple setting needs a touch of floral. Floppy tulips are an easy go-to for a garden party – especially when the setting is this beautiful!

Most importantly, the table must feel natural to your hosting style. For me, it’s nothing fussy, just simple, beautiful elements that make things feel special and welcoming. Here’s how we got the look…
