One of my very favorite parts of Christmas is wrapping all the presents!! While I usually buy the paper, I love making my own toppers and tags, so was super excited with the lovely Brandy Brown of Marabou Design agreed to hosting a little gift wrap workshop where she showed us how to create one-of-a-kind handmade wrapping paper and toppers just in time for holiday gifting…
She also set up a little shop where everyone could purchase her new line of gorgeous wrapping paper! (You may have noticed I snagged a few rolls myself!)
The seats were set with sweet treats and bows!
And Brandy showed how to whip out a small sheet of wrapping paper with nothin’ but a magic marker. I mean, even the most craft reluctant can get a handle on this kind of thing.
Here’s how to make your own paper in just a few easy steps!
Start with a pattern in mind, and one word you’d like to repeat. For example, you could do stars, zig zags and “merry”.
Then start by repeating the first pattern twice…
Then, write in the word, or repeat the other pattern, then the word. Really, there’s no rules, but you can see how this gal made Brandy’s example her own with trees, stars, dots and ‘Joy!’
And yes, those are pipe cleaner toppers!
Easy peasy, right? And you’ve got a happy handmade holiday gift wrap for friends and family that’s easy enough for the kiddos to do too.
A huge thank you to Brandy at Marabou Design and to Cozbi Jean for the beautiful photos!
Up next? Wreath design!!!
