February has flown by, so I’m squeezing in my Editor’s Picks just under the wire! My shopping habits for the month didn’t lend to our selection this time, as I’m afraid I didn’t buy a damn thing other than some necessities. I’m actually rather proud of myself for saying that. But all my favorite shops are starting to bring out their spring selections, so that didn’t last too long. I’ve already added a few of the pieces below to my shopping cart!
As we all know, black and white needn’t be cold. Layered into warm textures (like those I have all over my home), they retain their sophistication while softening their edge when juxtaposed with more casual settings and materials. I picture these selections as just that.
1. marble sconce | 2. preppy black and white button up sweater | 3. plaster side table | 4. brass bowls | 5. black and wood storage cabinet | 6. striped pendant light | 7. textured rug | 8. black sneakers
If you missed it, two new collaborations just arrived this month that I’m smitten with. The first is Leanne Ford’s awesome collection for Crate & Barrel. It’s worthy of it’s own blog post, there are so many fantastic, classic and reimagined pieces. The plaster side table here being one of them. The second is Jennifer Fisher for Cb2, which is where I found that gorgeous marble sconce. I don’t have a single place to put one, but I want two to hoard away for future renovations. Obviously, these companies are stepping up their game when it comes to designer collabs!
The other items in my cart, however, are the fun oversized cardigan and black sneakers! It’s time for me to add a few bits to my wardrobe that feel like comfy weekend wear but still chic.
As for the other bits – the brass bowls are one of those items that I like to have around the house for quick floral arrangements or styling. I’ve got a stash of containers like this in my basement, and they always come in handy when doing a little rearranging! And that RUG! It’s a Lulu & Georgia original, and it’s simply fantastic. A perfect way to add some texture to a room in a way that’s also neutral. I’m into it. The striped pendant is also on Lulu & Georgia, and I just loved that it felt funky and unique! I could see this in a stairwell, hall or entryway – I’d love to have it in my own stairwell to our attic!
Happy Shopping!!
