We are on the verge of the summer solstice this week, but here in Seattle it’s felt like summer for the last month or so already! The sun has been shining, we’ve been enjoying more time in the yard, and I’ve been busy refreshing the rooms in our house!

Since our kitchen remodel, I hadn’t really done much updating to this space in any major way. But I’d been craving a few changes lately, and partnering with Serena & Lily to bring summer into our home seemed like a no-brainer. They always bring that refined beach vibe that I’m looking for! With a few quick updates, things are feeling really fresh in here!quick summer decor updates for our breakfast nook from serena and lily on coco kelleyquick summer decor updates for our breakfast nook from serena and lily on coco kelleyquick summer decor updates for our breakfast nook from serena and lily on coco kelleyyellow peonies summer garden centerpiece | coco kelley

You guys know I love to update our breakfast nook pretty seasonally, so a pillow swap-out was a must! I already had a few pillows from Serena & Lily, so we just added more favorites that really brought in the texture. I’ll list them all at the end of the post so you can get the links! But the subtle stripe ones might be my favorite. They bring in just a hint of green to the space, and the are outdoor, so we can bring them outside if we want!

We also made a major update to the rug! I opted for a smaller, natural jute rug that feels so good in here. Before, we had a slightly larger and darker rug, which I still love, but after bringing this one in, my husband even declared that it felt so much more open and told me never to change it again. Meanwhile, in the kitchen, I decided to swap out our old stools for these beautiful rattan stools!! I can’t tell you how much I love them!! They add just the right amount of warmth and texture, and bring some of the beachy style from our living room into this space.

We also got this oversized basket tray for all our outdoor entertaining needs. This thing is huge! It’s perfect for so many things – a stylish way to wrangle dishes and flatware for serving guests, a drink station, or maybe the biggest breakfast in bed you’ve ever seen (I’m still dreaming about that one).quick summer decor updates for our kitchen from serena and lily on coco kelleyquick summer decor updates for our breakfast nook from serena and lily on coco kelley

I’m the kind of person who loves trays simply for the organization they provide. A neat little way to present items to guests – like we’ve done here – versus having everything just laying out on the counter or table. It makes for a nice presentation and keeps everything in one central spot. This tray is so large it fit our napkins, dishes, a small floral arrangement, and a post for a little grapefruit spritzer that I mixed up!

We are so set for summer in the kitchen, now!! And you know I’ll be keeping this beach vibe going all year-round, well after the sunshine has disappeared.
