If you wander through my house, it won’t take you long to figure out what my over-indulgences are when it comes to home decor. Pillows. Plants. And Ceramics. And lately, the ceramics are winning.
My most favorite ceramic vases and cups have landed in this corner of my home in the kitchen. I love them because they all have meaning behind where I got them – Orcas Island, Morocco, and – most recently, Berlin. But we can’t carry all the things back home with us when we travel, can we?
Have you ever had that moment when you get back from a trip where you really really wish you had bought something you saw and now you’ll probably never go back? Or, if you’re anything like me, your suitcase storage was already full and you literally couldn’t bring a new piece home if you wanted to. That’s where the internet comes in handy, my friends. I’ve been feeling that way about a few ceramic pieces I had seen on my most recent travels, so I thought I’d pop over to my favorite place to seek out international goods – Etsy – to see what I could find in the way of modern ceramics. Jackpot.
1. white ceramic stoneware pitcher | 2. neon yellow vase | 3. porcelain nesting bowls | 4. striped ceramic cup | 5. funky glazed vase | 6. spiky white ceramic vase | 7. black vase | 8. set of ice blue stoneware bottles | 9. turquoise ceramic vase | 10. slim matte pink vase | 11. ceramic carafe & cup set | 12. ceramic bowls | 13. marbled black & white cup
I really love a matte finish in most of my ceramics, if you couldn’t tell. While most of these pieces are truly modern, some – like the turquoise ceramic vase – come from more traditional styles. But, mixed in with modern pieces they take on new life and blend in seamlessly. That’s the hallmark of a classic piece that will last your style for a lifetime! I’ve been thinking of purchasing a few items from that shop, actually, as well as a few of these other pieces that would be right at home in my collections.
