I remember bookmarking this moody bedroom last year when looking for inspiration for our own attic. What struck me the most about this space was the unique combinations going on not only in the architecture but the furnishings and textiles too!
The textiles and patterns feature nods to English cottage, bohemian, and vintage styles, while the exposed materials in the ceiling paired with substantial craftsman built-ins and details feel so unique. The space really invites the eye to explore all the elements. Combine that with the touches of green and the bath sitting out in the main room… it’s all quite cozy and wonderful.
I’m a firm believer in rugs in the bedroom, and I love that here, owner Sofie Howard and Reath Design chose to use multiple rugs bringing a variety of pattern and textures into the space rather than just one main one. The super plush brown one by the bath adds a serious touch of luxury and also defines that space as its own.
The bedroom has an attached bath that continues the vintage vibe with some seriously retro tile and antique lighting while keeping with the classic moldings and trims. It’s not a style I would gravitate to on its own, but in combination with the bedroom it feels wildly appropriate, don’t you think?
