Thanks to some of our client work over at The Emerald Studio, I’ve been on a bit of a tile kick lately, hunting down inspiration for more original ideas beyond the realm of marble (always a winner, but used so much). Currently, this bathroom, designed by Michelle Smith and featuring floor to ceiling (literally!) penny tiles and brass details might be my favorite find…

I love the slight variation in creamy whites mixed with the dark grout – it evokes the feel of ivory inlay furniture for me, and is like living inside a little jewel box. The visual texture is such a unique option vs. all white paint or subway tiles. It’s interesting without being entirely overwhelming.

And looks so good with the brass hardware and fixtures! The wood mirrors and touches of marble look gorgeous in this secondary bath too…
