So, pretty much every Room of the Week from now until I finish decorating my new place will probably somehow tie into my loft aesthetic. (Apologies in advance). Luckily, my aesthetic is a bit all over the place at the moment, so I’m slowly piecing it all together. Today, it’s all about this bedroom …

Simple. Modern. Minimal. Textural. Ethnic. Organic. Classic. Can they all exist together? Apparently, yes. Thank goodness, because these are all words I’d like to use to describe my future home. With a little more comfort for good measure…

This space pulled me in with its complete mix of styles … and zero clutter. Is that realistic for small loft city living? Maybe not. But I’d like to get as close as possible. I think it’s really just about restraint. As I’ve been clearing out my current apartment, I’ve realized how much I enjoy having more breathing room. I feel a furniture purge coming on.
Now, check out the entry…

Big mirrors. Big art. Yes and yes.
And the dining room…

One thing I’ve realized I’m going to need a LOT of in my new space is plants, and branches and greenery all around – now that I’ll be away from my lake life. I love how dramatic they can be in a space like this – essential to filling those high ceilings!
