This past week of travel was such fun, and had me reminiscing about some of my favorite past trips… so much so that I’m already considering a few more in my very near future! So when hunting down a Room of the Week for today, I felt the need to find something a bit international from one of my favorite places… South Africa.
Welcome to the White House – located about an hour away from Cape Town this perfect farmhouse boasts that lovely, collected interior that makes houses like these feel like they’ve been around for centuries.
While traveling through Jamaica this past week, you could see the effects of British colonization everywhere in the design of homes and interiors, and the same can be said for South Africa, with its Dutch and British influences, and I love that mix so much. The caned antique sofa with the mustard mud cloth patterned chairs is the perfect example of this crossover of cultures.
The large arched doors leading outside are a beautiful architectural moment, as does the window in this kitchen below…
The textiles in this home are really just beautiful, making their own impact in these simple rooms..
What I wouldn’t give for some white washed floors…
