Ok, I know. Dark and preppy aren’t normally words you put together. But maybe that’s why I’ve always been so into this gingham-covered room for so long now…
It’s a little bit traditional, a little bit badass. I mean, it takes guts to cover an entire room with gingham, after all. And I love the herringbone carpeting with it too – such a cool mix of classic patterns.
So I decided to reinterpret this room into my own design, taking cues from the original mix of furniture and accessories…

The result is part classic, part edgy, and a little bit quirky modern. I’m digging it – are you? And for the record, my two favorite finds here are that dining chair – which comes in many different colors – and the fact that Terrain is now delivering those gorgeous pots with those gorgeous plants. For those without a green thumb or nursery in sight, this is good news. Also, hello awesome alternative to sending flowers.
