First off – no I’m not pregnant. Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way… I’m so excited that my design partner in crime is expecting her first bebe in just a few short months! Sara and I have worked together on many interior projects, but this time we’re collaborating on one of most fun rooms to design: the nursery. 
I’ve always loved Sara’s style because we have a lot of overlap, but she tends to skew a bit more relaxed, boho, and is the queen of vintage and antique touches. She even manages to work in an industrial piece at times that I wouldn’t have looked twice at. It’s truly impressive.
Today I’m going to start by sharing with you the room as it is now. Sara currently uses this space as her home office. Not only does she run her own design clients out of here, but helps manage their new restaurant, Homer, which you may remember us featuring here on coco kelley! Now it’s time to replace the whiteboard with nursery artwork, and the desk with a crib! 
This room might actually be my favorite one in her house thanks to those gorgeous french double-doors that lead out to a tiny balcony! Homer (the dog!), also seems to agree.
As you can see, right now the room is packed with goodies, but only a few elements are staying. The main one being this massive dresser that will serve as the perfect changing table and storage for plenty of baby items – diapers, toys, you name it.
I love the unique feel that this piece is going to bring to the space! We are also going to be keeping the curtains (they are blackout, so that’s perfect for baby!), and possibly the rug as well. I’m not totally sold on how the bold colors are going to look with the rest of the calm color scheme, but Sara loves it! 
Obviously the desk will be going, along with alllll these chairs. The plan is to put the crib against this wall, but we are still playing with the layout a bit. The deciding factor will likely be the scale of the rocking chair that we get to replace that cute vintage pink one.
If you look closely, you can also see how the closet has a cute little area (with a mini window!) that is currently being used for Sara’s printer and other items. We’ve discussed hanging little clothing racks here for baby’s mini wardrobe! I’m already dying of cuteness just thinking about it. It could also be a nice spot for additional baskets of toys. 
This blank wall seems like the perfect spot for some art, or book shelves! But one major change will be the addition of wallpaper throughout the entire space! I love wallpaper for a nursery, not only because it’s so fun and different, but also because it helps eliminate the need for too many hanging items on the walls, which always makes me a bit nervous around kiddos. 
What are your thoughts so far on the space? I’d be interested to see how it might feel with the crib actually here, where the dresser currently is, and the dresser on the other side so that you’re not walking into it so much. But until we get all the major furniture pieces in, I’m holding off on playing with it too much (that thing is a beast to move!).

As you can see, we are going really neutral with the foundation pieces for the nursery. We both fell in love with the teensy little leaf print of the Linden Wallpaper. Small print makes it easier to layer artwork, or floating shelves without things starting to feel too busy, and we love that it feels like a print that baby girl can grow into for a while, or that can transition with the room!
We still have a lot of little details to add before the space is ready, but I’m excited to share our progress with you as we quickly pull it all together!! Baby girl is set to arrive at the end of July!
