Combine the fact that this stunning home is a) in Paris and b) belongs to the Creative Director of Chloé, Clare Waight Keller, and it’s no wonder we had to dive into the layers of style that this house tour provides. The space is full of vintage chic furnishings, accented with beautiful bits of pottery, statues and art, yet it still maintains a casualness that is rare at this aesthetic level…

Of course what makes house tours like this one so extremely unfair is the architecture and the light that comes with a home in this beautiful city.

Infuse this type of space with modern accents, and it still feels soft and approachable – just like Keller’s living room. I love the cover over the sofa seat – hiding a stain, or simply adding a lovely layer? We’ll never know. But the hidden piece I love the most is that bamboo bench tucked over behind the coffee table, slightly hidden under the sheepskin throws. THAT is a piece I covet!

And speaking of covet – I’ll take this entire vignette thankyouverymuch. Digging that big oversized table lamp behind as well which helps fill out that corner so nicely.

Oh, did I mention the floors? Yes, those too. (Rushing off to find real estate options in Europe now…)

The dining room maintains that same approachable vibe while maintaining its chic sensibilities. Just the right amount of accessories, too, don’t you think? It feels full and welcoming, but not cluttered. That long mirror and buffet is the perfect modern compliment to the dining set that has a bit of a pub feel about it.

Mixing a geometric rug with this antique inlay chest was a bold move in the bedroom – and perhaps one of the very few choices I’m not totally sold on. But obviously given the choice between the two, the chest would stay.

It’s a simply gorgeous piece, don’t you think?

Here’s how we’d put our American (and slightly more accessible) spin on getting the look to this curated home…

1. bone inlay chest  // 2. murano glass vase // 3. white block pot // 4. kate roebuck watercolor painting // 5. spotlight floor lamp // 6. cream tub swivel chair // 7. danish kilim pillow // 8. blake emerald pillow // 9. high shine silver rug

It starts with a few basics – like the beige sofa and headboard. Then, you throw in a few mod choices (hello velvet lounge chair), and a mix of unique accessories (African sculptures, murano glass and peculiar pottery) to fill the shelves of your antique surfaces. Current textiles and a simple rug with a beautiful high-sheen top it all off.
