Summer is officially here, and I’ve had one thing on my mind lately: BEACH vibes. Sadly, living in Seattle, our beaches aren’t exactly the kind I grew up with in LA. But that doesn’t mean my interior can’t evoke that same laid back bohemian style.

With its wash of classic blues, whimsical accents, feminine palette, a touch of classic, and – yes – beach bohemian vibes – it should come as no surprise that this home belonging to the lovely Rebecca de Ravenel has always been a favorite of mine.

Expertly layered textiles are only topped by the art on the walls, starting with this cloud piece by Paule Marrot, followed by the giraffe flanked by seashells on the fireplace.

This vignette is hard to rival but there are so many fun little moments in the house, you really can’t settle on one thing before falling in love with the next! I can tell you right now that I’d steal that little bookshelf tucked behind the palm tree in a heartbeat. I’m such a sucker for Italian metalwork like that reflected in the chandelier, lamp and shelf!

No self-respecting boho home is complete without a wicker elephant.

Sadly, we only get a glimpse of the other living area which I tried very hard to find more images of and failed at. But I spy lots of art and more fantastic details. I’m also quite jealous of her paper flowers from The Green Vase. You can spy the geraniums in the previous room, and the hollyhocks here too.

And then there’s the dining room…

She’s gone a bit more jewel toned here and I like it. Did you see yesterday’s post with the blue and green glassware? I’m just now realizing how much this mimics those!

I love her sweet bedroom too. The same whimsical feel that’s not overly styled or too precious is what I’m really drawn to with her home. Perhaps because I myself am so uptight about things being coordinated and perfectly placed, and this home seems to just exude casualness but in a perfectly curated way that’s unique to its owner.

That said… getting the look, we can do! Here’s exactly where I’d start…

1. floral chandelier | 2. paper mache giraffe | 3. indigo mudcloth pillow | 4. raffia console | 5. white foam flower | 6. paule marrot artwork | 7. blue striped accent chair | 8. seashell bottle

The key here is really an abundance of blue textiles – whether that’s furniture or pillows – followed by accent pieces in wicker, bamboo or raffia. Then you move on to beachy accessories, fantastic artwork, and lots of personal touches.
