If you haven’t wandered over to one of my favorite wedding sites – Style Me Pretty – in while, you may not have gotten the memo that some time ago they launched Style Me Pretty Living. A section devoted to home and lifestyle topics, it’s become a favorite destination of mine to check out for original content and inspiration.

So, naturally I was pretty thrilled when the ladies over there asked if I wanted to do a little house tour for them! Their post went up yesterday, but I wanted to share a few of my favorite selections from the shoot, and provide some resources for everyone who has been asking…

First off – excuse me while I dump a million photos on you. Katie did such an amazing job with the photography that it was hard enough for me to narrow it down to these selections!

If you remember, we shot my apartment last year in the spring – when I had just ‘finished’ putting it together – for Rue Magazine. Since then, I’ve rearranged, refined my palette, and moved some pieces out that are now in my office.

I’ve also acquired a few more favorite treasures, like this neon ‘love’ sign.  And, before you ask, the mirror is a vintage piece. As in I found it for $10 at a thrift store (score!). The console is super old and I recently repainted it to breathe some new life into it!

This shot gives you a good idea of the actual layout of the space – small, but manageable! My favorite new addition, however, is all of the art that I’ve recently acquired. It’s always been a goal of mine to fill my home with pieces I love, but being able to commission one? I thought that was light years away. Not so…

The gorgeous piece in my dining room by local Seattle artist Jenny Vorwaller was created just for me. Jenny is the absolute sweetest, and such a talent. She came over one day and we chatted about my style, my preference in colors, styles of paintings I admire, and more. And this was the result!

After she dropped it off, I think I texted her something like “this is the epitome of my happy place”. Which is true. The colors are my favorites, the energy of the piece infectious. And I love looking at it in the morning while I’m waking up over my coffee … especially when Seattle’s skies are offering me nothing but grey.

She also lent me a few pieces for my living room…

By the way, guys, this new site called framed & matted was a lifesaver for me in getting a few of my prints framed too. (Check out this image that has a better view of the wall in its entirety!) They’re a site you can go on, provide dimensions, select your frame finishes and matting, and they send you the frame. It worked perfectly for me, and I’m planning on using them again for a few more small pieces I need finished! Such a timesaver.

And then, of course, there are my bookshelves. Out of everything in my apartment, I swear these take the most time to style. I’m crazy.

Let’s move on to the bedroom, shall we?

I wanted the color palette to continue into this room, but in a bit different way, so I kept the pop of coral, but toned down the aqua to a pale blue…

While the furniture in here has stayed the same, the feel of the room completely changes with the brighter bedding! (If you’re really keen, you’ve noticed that I’ve swapped the curtains around since our last photo shoot too!).

I think we all know that little details are my favorite. This vignette filled with art by Jennifer Ament is still one of my most favorite places in my home!

And that’s it, folks. I hope you love the changes and updates as much as I do. My home has never felt cozier… or more like ‘me’.
