The words ‘refined boheme’ alongside ‘Hamptons farmhouse’ seem a bit odd at first glance. How do all these worlds collide into a perfectly stylish home? Well, the proof is in the pudding…
First off – the only thing ‘farmhouse’ about this home is the exterior itself. From the outside it indeed feels quintessential Hamptons, and inside, wide plank floors and a few rustic rooms and details certainly lend to the title. But the decor? Oh no. The decor is global chic to the core, as evidenced by this first space – a beautifully layered living room. I am quite obsessed with that chair and its fancy fringe.
You’ll notice Moroccan rugs cover nearly every surface of the home, but all of them very unique. A traditional piece – like this entryway console – here and there lends again to that farmhouse feel, but it’s the textiles throughout the space that bring the personality. This next room might be my favorite…
I love that these walls were left bare and rustic. Such dreamy light in here!
The very simple kitchen is the only space that feels a bit more modern and goes back to that farmhouse feel. I like that they chose to keep it simple in here, as for me kitchens should always be a bit less fussy and more about the food and function.
The dining room, however…
The upholstery on these chairs is SO fun! Not my most favorite room, but I do appreciate what’s going on here. I love the way the antique chairs look against the black and white chinoiserie wallpaper.
Ok, so I lied. I think the bedroom is my favorite! I love the bold fresh blue in here! The chandelier being icing on the cake. Taking a second look, I’m not sure I would have pulled those pillows out of my hat for this space, but the mismatched curtains? Yes. I love. You can see the pair to the one on the left in the bath below…
The ‘refined boheme’ style is definitely one I can get behind (It reminds me a bit of this home tour too – which one do you gravitate to?). Here’s how we’d get the look:
1 seed glass geometric pendant // 2 blue pillow, grey shibori pillow, kantha pillow // 3 dhurrie rug chair // 4 beveled metal mirror // 5 gilded parsons side table // 6 antique french daybed // 7 moroccan rug // 8 kate roebuck painting // 9 chinese style glazed pot
What I wouldn’t give for a big ol daybed to throw a million pillows on like theirs! And all those boldly upholstered furnishings are making me want to brave with my next chair purchase – I think I need a little more pattern in my life!
