I’m always so refreshed when I stumble upon a space I’ve never seen before, and this one in particular is calling my name today with its blue and white palette that feels classic and fresh with a hint of tropical ….
Not to mention that sweet pup who obviously just decided to stay put throughout the shoot! I don’t blame him. That sofa is divine!!! In fact, I’ve been considering ways to refresh my white sofa, and I love this mix.
So, let’s be honest here for a minute: there are a lot of elements going on in this room. Compared to all the pared down spaces we’re used to seeing these days, the separate vignettes and piles may feel a little overwhelming, but I think in person, this would translate so incredibly lovely!
The common threads throughout the room that help pull it all together are pretty obvious, I think, but let’s point them out. The blue border on the whitewashed floor, tying into the overall blue and white scheme is my favorite. The natural textures in all the planters (those gorgeous urns included!) and lots of fresh green keep the space feeling lively. And finally – you’ll notice that there aren’t a lot of wood tones distracting from the white, which I like.
This shot kills me. The stylist in me is shouting noooooooo but the home dweller in me is ALL about it. Side note: I have always wanted a free floating table to pile my books on. I think I need to magically make that happen.
They took that big orchid away for this shot and it feels so much more calm. Proof that there is such a thing as too much, sometimes. What do you think? Do you prefer it on there?
I do love this vignette though. It feels so fun and fresh and like I’m out at the beach! I just want to grab my caftan, and a beach hat and dip my toes in the sand.
Consider myself totally charmed, and also very much sold on the two-tone sofa idea.
Ok, so now you have to do yourself a favor and hop over to William McLure’s site to see how this room looked before when he had it painted all RED. Yep. And also to gaze at all his beautiful art, which I’m now obsessed with.
