I’ve always dreamed of hosting a fantastically moody and dark Halloween dinner party. I can picture guests all in black, donned with masks and top hats, and served in a decadent dining room…

This concept came to me as an ode to the overgrown mansion of Miss Havisham in the classic Great Expectations… but could appropriately also be attributed to Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil – a perfect Halloween theme, don’t you agree?

Decadent dark and enticing, the table features many little details (of course) that lend to a quietly eerie theme…

Tucked into the plants were glowing votives, garden statues, skulls and vintage candelabras…

Guests would be gifted with trinkets that could only be explained by the mad mind of Miss Havisham. Are they thoughtful, or cursed?

My favorite detail are the pieces that have little legs… as if they might magically get up and walk away!

Don’t worry – there’s more where this concept came from. Tomorrow we’ll bring you a champagne cocktail recipe and a perfectly presented dessert to add to the party!
