The last time my girls and I were all together we realized that we all had the week between Christmas and New Year’s off! Serendipitous? I think so. And there’s nothing more I’d rather do with that precious downtime than host a girlfriends brunch! It’s the perfect way to spend your New Year’s Day too! So we teamed up with Pier1 to create a fresh and fancy setting for a laid back gathering…

This whole scene was inspired by that statement-making pineapple decanter at Pier1. The symbol of hospitality, what better way to serve your guests? I’m a grapefruit mimosa kind of gal, so we filled it up with juice and paired it with a brut rosé bubbly.

We carried the theme through with these mini pineapple place card holders that we used to label all the mimosa ingredients. So cute, right? We had ginger beer for the pregnant ladies so I added some candied ginger to the mix, fresh grapefruit and raspberries are perfect for nibbling or garnishing!

It’s been a while since I invested in some nice staples like these gorgeous gold rimmed dishes and champagne flutes that are fancy enough to make guests feel like you broke out the good china while being affordable enough to stock up on!

These are the kind of items that you will use again and again and again. And for some reason that are the hardest to find. So, stock up my friends. You can thank me when you’ve used them for the 100th time.

Don’t forget touches of whimsy! I love these gold embroidered cocktail napkins with ‘pop’, ‘fizz’, ‘clink’ and ‘cheers’ on them!

Here’s a little hosting tip that you don’t get to use too often. If this floral arrangement seems familiar that’s because we used it for our citrus-themed holiday table! With an arrangement like this, the greens will usually preserve themselves for a solid week if not more. So why not get some extra use out of it? I pulled out the dying ranunculus and tangerines and swapped them for some beautiful peach roses to refresh the centerpiece and save some time and money in the process!

The best part about a party like this one? Brunches are a no-brainer. And after all that holiday hosting and cooking and baking, all you need to do is make sure that the bubbles are flowing! Do what we’re doing and have everyone bring a small dish, like a frittata or baked goods, and you’re covered.

Then you can sit back in your comfies with your best girlfriends and swap holiday stories, new year’s resolutions, and all your big plans for 2017!
