I have to say that I’m always incredible impressed with bloggers (and people in general!) who have their act together enough to get that holiday decor up in early December! We may have gotten our tree two weeks ago, but we certainly haven’t decked those halls. The house has been a bit of a disaster between life and photo shoots and travel and the cold that seems to keep making the rounds between my husband and myself.
So, while I’m hoping to finally have some time this weekend to trim our archways with garland, decorate my tiny tree upstairs, and maybe even find the time to photograph it to share with you all, in the meantime I’m bringing you some of my favorite simple, happy, holiday home decor moments from around the blogosphere.
This might be cheating a bit because this was her Christmas tree from last year, but Jillian of Better Happier‘s velvet garland adorned tree is giving me all the warm fuzzies! I love how fat and happy this tree is! It’s the perfect shape to hold a garland like this. And, she used the pink bird ornaments that I bought last year too!! In fact this palette is really similar to my tree last year. If only I could get my hands on that garland! Before you go hunting for it – it was sold through Terrain and is no longer available. So if anyone tracks it down, please tell me!! I suppose it could make for a fun DIY!
And speaking of which…
I love the handmade ‘Oh What Fun’ garland made by the oh so talented Erin at Francois et Moi along with her lush bay leaf garland that she hung this year! She is one of my favorites to follow because her home is so peaceful and cozy! Her simple black and white tree is also just adorable.
Hot topic: Do you swap your pillows out to match your holiday decor?? I considered doing this this year, but I feel like I need to go pretty cheap with whatever I find because, really … it’s for like a month. And I just can’t seem to find the right thing! I love Erin’s green velvet pillow here!
I recently discovered Chloe at Boxwood Avenue thanks to our little Blogger Cookie Swap, and she’s basically living my dream life out on a ranch in California with the cutests goats I have ever seen, and a most gorgeous home to match. I love her simple touches around the entire house that feel classic, yet fresh! And, incorporate many of her beautiful antiques too.
Sidenote: this may be one of the best done odes to Christmas in a bedroom, where the mix of green and red feels totally subtle and appropriate instead of glaringly obvious.
But it was her greenery against those dark walls and gilded mirror that really got me… so chic! Yet so simple. I like that the decor around it is Christmas, but tasteful. Getting all sorts of motivation from this one! For when we decorate this weekend!
This one is a small one, but a goodie! There is nothing I love the idea of more than escaping to a little vacation cabin for the holidays, so this adorable A-frame from Deuce Cities Henhouse is basically a total dream. I love her excessive use of black and white buffalo plaid throughout the home, and how she even managed to tie it into the stockings on the mantel. She even snuck in a little A-frame ornament on the tree…
Oh, how I’d love to cozy up to that fire on Christmas Eve!!
Chances are you may have seen Simply Suzy’s super minimal holiday decor already as she’s become a quick favorite on insta! Her fireplace is giving me major mantel envy, as I love how long it is! (The better to swag the heck out of!) But I’m really impressed with the restraint and the cozy factor here. Take note people: if you want to get away with having three trees in one room, just don’t decorate them! Or maybe decorate one? Just lights? Either way, the fact that she’s got so much greenery, and yet it doesn’t feel excessive, really shows how keeping things natural can be a win.
And yes, I’m pretty sure we all want her swings too.
And I love the idea of a little greenery in the bedroom too – do you do this? I just bought a beautiful brass star garland that I think I might put in mine… but now I’m thinking some fresh greens in there might be necessary as well! I hope you’ve gotten as many ideas from these beautifully decorated homes as I have!!
