As we sign off for the holidays and time with family and loved ones, I wanted to bring you one last look at my favorite holiday table we cooked up this year. Perhaps it was because this year was so crazy, my husband, step-daughter and I officially became a family, or just the simple need for cozy vibes, but I was much more inspired to go with something traditional. Of course, that doesn’t mean we didn’t put our own spin on it…
It was the buffalo plaid tablecloth that started this whole thing for me. Because really, who can’t get enough of that in their life? From there, I just kinda went crazy with the plaid and pattern! The fabric covered letters were a lucky find at our local craft store, and I they just happened to have every single letter I needed to set the table for my family this holiday. (That never happens, right?)
At each place setting? A buffalo plaid eye mask wrapped in bakers twine with a highly appropriate message for all on Christmas Eve.
I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to some serious downtime between now and the end of the year to take time off from the hustle, let my body and mind recharge a bit, and spend some time being thoughtful and intentional about the upcoming year. I feel incredibly lucky in so many ways for the simple things this year. Considering all the natural disasters that have displaced families from their homes, simply having a roof over my head counts as one of them.
So now, I’m off to bake some Christmas cookies, snuggle my pup and husband, and enjoy the next few days with family as we give thanks for all we have.
