If setting a beautiful holiday table for friends and family is my favorite part of this season, then I suppose mixing a signature cocktail for such an occasion is a close second! As many drinks as we’ve toasted with over the years, I have to say I found this holiday cocktail recipe quite refreshing, with flavors that still felt of the season. I hope you enjoy!
I’ve been slowly easing into Gin a bit more this year in my cocktails, and since it’s full of that fresh juniper, it seems right at home amongst Christmas trees and fresh forest greens like those adorning this table.
The second ingredient – Kombucha – is definitely having its moment. And if one can feel a little bit better about indulging this time of year, then I’m all the more for it! This particular brew features flavors of rosemary, peppermint, and sage, making it the perfect compliment to Gin!
The Pear Tree // serves 1
- 1.5 oz. St. George Terroir Gin (or any gin that leans towards an earthy quality)
- Brew Dr Kombucha – Clear Mind Brew (or a kombucha with a similar palate)
- Rosemary sprigs for garnish
- Fine sugar
- One pear
This is an easy cocktail to serve up quickly with its super simple ingredients! Make a super fine slice of pear for the glass, and tuck your sugared rosemary behind it. Then pour in the gin, and top with the kombucha for a nice little fizz!
I love the way the pear tastes at the end of the drink, after it’s been soaking in the gin!
Notes: If you’d like to get really fancy, you can make a rosemary simple syrup, sugaring the rosemary sprigs after you use them for the syrup. Or, you can do as we did, and simply wet the fresh rosemary and dip them in fine sugar for a garnish, then set them aside until you’re ready to use.
