You may remember us featuring the Quirk Hotel in Richmond previously on coco kelley, but when my friend and contributing photographer Ellie Lillstrom had the pleasure of visiting the property last month, she managed to shoot the entire place from her own perspective for us for our Wanderlust Design series! With its mega dose of pink, soaring arched ceilings, and – of course – a little quirk – how could I not want to feature it again?
Before ‘Millennial Pink’ was really a thing, these guys were doing it. This signature color permeates their branding and their lobby with shots of soft and loud pink everywhere, and I love what it brings to the open space!
This might be my favorite spot. I love the unexpected addition of antique style sconces on either side of this modern fixture. And of course the pink velvet stools against the dark wood bar.
But when it comes down to it, it’s really the historic architecture that makes this space what it is! The vastness of it could not have been easy when contemplating a floor plan. The unique curving banquettes create an interesting way of breaking up the space to separate the dining from the bar from the lounge from the check-in area.
On the opposite side of the commanding brass counter (love) is a cute little coffee shop where Quirk serves their own signature brew, as well as one area that we didn’t feature before – the Gallery.
This adorable shop is filled to the brim with curated items to make the color scheme, as well as art (love these prints!), jewelry and more. And how about that pink stairwell…
The actual gallery features local artists and the shop many local artisans too. It’s very obvious that the Quirk is here to be a part of the community.
I have a suspicious feeling that you may just actually be able to find a little love and happiness here!
