Anyone else been dreamily planning for the who-knows-when future when we can all travel again?? This week would have been our Spring Break – not that we had anything fabulous on the calendar – but it made me pause and think about where in the world I’d like to be right now. And while there are many places on my mind, a sunny island in the Mediterranean sounds pretty damn lovely at the moment. Especially when it comes with this view…

And this simple, warm decor! When we do return to travel, I’m not sure a crowded hotel will be my speed, but a private home? Absolutely. Welcome to Casa Santa Teresa on the island of Corsica. Located just south of France, but nearly touching the island of Sardinia in Italy, the island is a blend of the two cultures. So if you’re having a case of indecision, perhaps this destination will help you achieve the best of both worlds?? One can only hope.

The tall home features five bedrooms distributed throughout several floors, tons of outdoor living space, and light-filled open plan lounging areas. This makes it a top contender for my imaginary 40th birthday this year wherein my favorite girlfriends and I escape reality for at least a week while basking the sun, and sleeping in a well designed private villa in a foreign country. Can we actually afford this? No. Will it happen? Never say never.

I love the very small doses of color in the dining nook, and throughout the home. Mostly filled with white walls and warm woods, the fresh, simple design is exactly what I look for when renting a space like this. For me, seaside accommodations don’t need much when you’ve got a view to keep you aesthetically entertained!

The kitchen is small and efficient with another splash of color, and I love how there are natural, tropical textures throughout the interiors.

Below the main deck, on the ground floor, a second outdoor kitchen and dining space accompanies the pool. From there, you can walk down to the private beach for dips in the sea…

Do you think this home also comes with a personal bartender? Yes please.

Up on the top floor, what I assume is the master (or just the best) bedroom has a terrace with a view. I call dibs. Also currently changing this to the background on my laptop so I can continue the dream of this escape on a daily basis.

So, what do we think, all? A top contender for a post-quarantine escape?? I think so.
