Let’s be honest here – a trip to Sonoma is always a treat. But my most recent trip to wine country with Williams-Sonoma and Fortessa basically takes the cake for amazingness. We were totally spoiled from the second we arrived, and at the end of the night, we got to fall asleep in this heavenly moment at the Fairmont Sonoma!

If you have the opportunity to stay here do. The service was fantastic (just as you’d expect) and the spa a complete treat in itself (I had a relaxing facial and the pools are divine!).

We visited the original Williams-Sonoma store where we received a quick history lesson on founder Chuck Williams. Adjacent to the store lays his former home which is now a design center for WS Home, and beyond that a small garden area for customers to enjoy!

The store also features a gorgeous full kitchen where we were treated to a cooking lesson with San Francisco chef Thomas McNaughton who showed us a few tricks from his book Flour + Water.

And by tricks, I mean an insanely delicious lunch…

While we devoured our dishes, we learned a bit about Fortessa – a line I had been familiar with from a hospitality standpoint, but wasn’t even aware was carried at Williams-Sonoma! The more I learned the more I loved – not only from a quality standpoint (They add titanium to their Schott Zwiesel glassware to avoid breaking! Good for this Italian who talks with her hands.) – but from a value standpoint too. Any company who sends their CEO to chat with bloggers and who offers up genuine conversation over many many glasses of wine is good by me.

In fact the entire Fortessa team that attended the trip along with us was amazing. They were the kind of people – and company – that make you want to love and support an already great brand.

So, I mentioned the wine, right? Well there was more of it to be had during our tasting at Silver Oak where they gushed about Fortessa’s glassware, poured us their infamous Cabernet Sauvignon, and served up a mean antipasto platter too.

And as if we weren’t already divinely full from our lunch and tour, we also enjoyed an amazing dinner served by the Fairmont’s Santé Restaurant

I died over the decor!

You can expect more about our little partnership with Williams-Sonoma and Fortessa in the coming months and I can’t wait to share more with you!

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Fortessa. The opinions and text are all mine.
