Don’t be surprised if every house tour from here on out this summer is a vacation home. I have far too many of them saved up to share with you all! Some are quaint and charming, some are modern and massive, but all of them feel like an escape. Starting with this dream scenario: a trio of whitewashed Italian homes in Puglia known as Masseria Scorcialupi.
If you haven’t been paying attention, then let me fill you in on a little secret: Puglia is the next hot spot for vacationing in Italy. Why? The Masseria – or ‘farmhouse’ – style of the region combined with the fact that entire towns are washed in white makes it an instant draw for travelers looking for perfectly picturesque moments.
I first fell in love with the region after discovering Masseria Moroseta on instagram, which is a stunning – though more modern – escape. Since then, I’ve been hunting for other options in the area to stay as well because I’m dreaming of my next trip. And that’s how I discovered this charming beauty.
This masseria is an old family home converted into three homes that you can rent separately or together. Perfect for a little family vacation or friends getaway, don’t you think? The grounds provide plenty of places to lounge outside of the smaller living quarters, including a pool!
I love the outdoor living vibe, but also that there is much consideration given to providing shade and cool spaces to beat that summer heat. You can tell that inside these spaces are staying as cool as can be! I adore the simplicity of it all… just what my brain needs on vacation.
The stone floors here make me want to try and paint our crazy saltillo tiles in the basement a creamy white! Maybe then I can manage decorating around them. They certainly lend a coolness but also a European charm to the space. The trim colors are also giving me all sorts of ideas! This palette of whites with touches of blue, green and mustard yellow is so up my alley right now!
Yes to outdoor showers, and plenty of dining al fresco on vacation! Who’s ready for a ladies weekend in Puglia!??
